The folks we saw were happy to reap the rewards of a class action lawsuit that includes retailers like Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom and Saks. They were ordered to give away $175,000,000 in products as part of a settlement stemming from a lawsuit that claimed the stores and companies conspired to keep prices high. They don’t have to admit wrongdoing as part of the settlement. Instead, they simply have to hand over the goods. And to get the cosmetic products that are being given out, all you have to do is sign a waiver. Customers are entitled to one free product. But there’s not an endless supply. Retailers began the giveaway last Tuesday and they’ll continue until January 27th or until their supplies run out.
