Default New Dealighted Rewards Program - Relaunched

As of 11/6/2009, the Dealighted rewards program has been revamped and relaunched. In the past, we paid cash rewards for every deal, which emphasized quantity over quality. We want to reward quality, finding those rare killer deals, and deal discussion, over sheer quantity.

Here's the breakdown of the new program:

1) Rewards are based on a new points system. The more points you have, the more likely you are to receive a reward.

2) Points are based primarily on quality, not quantity. The hotter the deal you find and post, the more points you will rack up.

How to earn points:

1) Every deal you post to the Dealighted forum (for any online or offline retailer, no restrictions) has a chance to get chosen as hot by our system, and thus featured on the Dealighted homepage. When this happens, you instantly receive a 100 point bonus for your deal post.

2) Every time your deal is viewed, you receive 1 point (if it's hot enough to make it to our homepage, then it's likely to get viewed hundreds of times per day). Deal posts can still earn 1 point for each view even if they are only shown in our forums and not featured on the Dealighted homepage.

3) Every time you post a reply to someone else's deal threads, you receive 25 points.

What you get:

The top 10 Dealighted users with the most points at the end of each month each receive a $200 cash reward (via Paypal).

Suggestions:

1) Don't waste time posting a bunch of low quality deals. They won't get viewed often or featured on our homepage, and aren't likely to earn points. Instead, take time to find a few high quality deals to post, rare bargains, deals that you happen to come across in your own shopping experiences. If you find a deal on another site, improve it, don't just repost it. Remember that really hot deals will stand out from low quality deals and are much more likely to hit our homepage.

2) If you have a comment about someone else's deal, post a reply. Points will add up quickly (25 points per reply). If it becomes clear to our moderators that you are posting pointless replies to earn points, you may be banned -- so be sure that you genuinely have something to add to the discussion.

3) Don't try to game the system by refreshing your deal thread to increase views, or by exaggerating or sensationalizing deal thread titles. If we detect automated or unnatural activity to your deal threads, you will be banned.

We will soon make a scoreboard available for you for you to track your points relative to other Dealighted users.

That's it. Pretty easy. We'll tweak this going forward if the point numbers need adjusting in order to reach our goal of a very active deal forum community where people discuss and post quality hot deals. Dealighted will receive close to 2 Million unique visitors this month -- let's show all of those bargain hunters that our forums are a fantastic money saving resource.

Here's a tip: Black Friday related deals are likely to be way hotter in November than other deals.

* Note: A minimum of 2,000 points are required to be eligible for the $200 reward.

Although I really hate this, this is a brilliant way to get the forums buzzing.

Thanks, I think .. The old method wasn't working like we hoped, to create a "natural" community of deal seekers. We want to reward quality and give people a reason to discuss hot deals here.

Default This is a lot better

This system is a lot better than the last one. and gives me an incentive to post deals again. When things slow down for me in the next couple of months I will definitly be back, (not that anyone cares), posting deals.

Hey guys something to keep in mind here, I know Scott mentioned posting BF deals. But with that you still need to adhere to our traditional forum rules and add something to the deal beside just a link. Look at the ads or the ad scans and post a few of the deals you think are best
