I have had mine for a year and I use the heat strip all the time to reseal crackers, cereal, chocolate chip bags, you name it. This is a channel design so you need to be careful when sealing wet ingredients but other then that it works great. Reseal unused cheese, cut avacado, chopped lettuce, you name it. They sell this on their regular site for $199 but this is their site for repair parts and they sell it for $50.
