FAQ:

Q: This is stupid. Why post Costco coupons that I am just going to get in the mail? Are you stupid or what?
A: Well, yes and no. Just like any ad, you can plan ahead and wait to purchase these items until the date posted. Or you can ignore it. Or you can post about how stupid it is. Honestly, I would be so happy to hear your opinions on whether or not it makes sense to post advertisements.

Q: Can I print these and hand them over to the cashier?
A: It's a free country. You could hand the cashier a copy of the Constitution if you wanted. However, they won't be able to scan the coupons so there's really no point.

Q: The coupon UPC are all the same. Can I just hand them one?
A: YMMV. Some cashiers will tell you that they need the coupon for every product you're buying that has a coupon. However, the computer/register will automatically deduct the coupons for every item you buy, whether or not you give them the coupon for that particular item. If the cashier insists on every coupon, tell them that the register has already deducted the savings and take at least 15 minutes to search for and rip out each coupon. It works best if you "accidentally" tear each coupon in half.

Q: I purchased my wife a carton of 144 tampons on June 1 and see there is a coupon for $1 off starting June 10 (this is a hypothetical situation, I'm not sure if there is indeed a tampon coupon or not, but hope there is), Can I take my receipt to customer service and get $1 back?
A: Maybe, bro. For some reason some Costcos will only allow you to return the product and rebuy another with the coupon. While this makes absolutely no sense, they may require you to return the (unused) portion of the tampons and rebuy another box. On the other hand, they may refund the coupon amount. It seems like more often than not they require you to return the previousluy purchased item, so make sure you bring it with you if that's the case. It's much easier to just wait for the coupon date. We both know you go to Costco three times a week anyway.

Q: Can I buy more than one of the item with the coupon?
A: There are posted limits per transaction. However, on return trips you can purchase the same item again. For example, if you bought the red "kegger cups" on June 15th for your big party on June 19th (please invite me) and somehow you have more friends coming than you do cups then you can return on June 16th and purchase another bag of red "kegger cups" provided you either still have the coupon or are buying something else that you are using a coupon with. I hope that makes sense.

Q: What if I don't get the book/I never get the coupon book
A: I am sorry. Some people will say you can get a book from customer service others will tell you otherwise. Your best bet is to go on the first day of the promotion. Usually, the cashier will have a set of coupons and will just scan one for you. At my Costco, they usually just throw away the coupons I hand them and scan one of their own but YMMV. You may also ask another customer/friend for a coupon they aren't using that you plan to use.
