Exclamation BEWARE! Scam websites offering Hot Deals!

I was recently looking for a Digital Camera. The going rate was $325. I found a website that offered the camera that I wanted for $225. Too good to be true I thought to myself. Yup! A quick Google search exposed several websites (this one included) that run a slick scam.

1. Offer hot products for a steep discount to other e-tailers.
2. After you complete the sale, the confirmation email requires you to "call to confirm" your order.
3. They try to sell you rediculously overpriced accessories for your product.
4. If you decline the up-sells, they hang up on you or send you an "out-of-stock" email.
5. If you get your item it will most certainly be "GREY MARKET"

Here are a few of the sites, but not all!
TheDigitalNerds
techondigital.com
DigitalSuperdeals
Wawa Digital
Stargate Photo
Starlight

We are all looking for the best deal, just be careful and do a little research before ordering.
Feel free to add sites if you are aware of any.

The reputations of all of those stores and thousands more are easily researched here:

I'll agree with you both 100% research those sites before you buy. I'd says that is especially true when the deal seem "to good to be true", because most the time it is. RR is one of, if not the best, sites around for checking up on online sellers.
