Default Walmart Site to Store?

Anyone have any experience with them in terms of actual vs estimated arrival time? I recently ordered a pole saw (now oos) but my estimated delivery time is like two weeks I hoped to have the dang thing within a week, but they are saying anywhere from 6/4-6/10

$22 shipping for a pole saw!

I see why you opted for site-to-store. I have yet to even use the site-to-store option at Wal-Mart. Whatever your experience with it happens to be, let us know. However, knowing Wal-Mart, if the ETA is two weeks, it will probably be two weeks. If there is one thing Wal-Mart usually does well, it is inventory distribution and tracking at the warehouse level.

Well they just now sent me an email telling me the saw is back ordered and they don't know when it will be available. This in spite of the fact that they recently updated the site to say they have it listed as being in stock.

Looks like I'll be ordering it from some place else, or going to Lowe's and getting the remington instead of the McCulloch

BTW, Northern Tool is backordered as well. It could potentially be a soon to be discounted model.

McCulloch Electric Pole Saw — 1.5 HP, 10Ft., Model# MCP1510 | Pruners | Northern Tool + Equipment

That could be the case. I know it has gone in and out of stock on walmart's site a few times and everywhere else I had seen it has either run out or has fairly limited stock. Costco has them for $99.99 shipped but I think I can get the remington from Lowe's in store for $89 so I might have to go that route.

Well I didn't cancel the order, figured I'd stick it out and see if they got it back in stock. I guess they finally got it shipped. I think this might be the last time I deal with Walmart online, or at least deal with ship to store.

Your order has shipped and should arrive by Friday, 06/13/2008.

I had a beverage cooler shipped site to store last year. It took about 2 weeks, but I had the time as we were doing some renovations to our house, and it was needed for that.

I have not used site to store since, but probably would again with a lot of leeway in time. If it's something I don't need right away.

Well after a bit of delay, they got it here ahead of their schedule. I guess with it being back ordered two weeks isn't too bad. Pickup at my local store was a bit of a nightmare. I asked the greater where to go, assuming it was customer service, he agreed with that idea. I stood in line there for 20mins only to be told they do site to store pickups in the jewelry dept That made no sense to me at all but whatever.

The CSR there had no idea what was going on, and was trying to send me back to customer service, she was just covering for someone on break. She got the manager to come over, which btw was at customer service, but helping some lady that didn't understand why she hadn't been called back on her job app

After a bit of a wait, and a training session showing the CSR how to handle S2S orders I got my saw. Its a brand new store, so I can understand a little wait time, but employees, especially your greater should know the appropriate place to send people. In fact the girl at the customer service dept didn't even bother to tell me where the jewelery section was, and of course I had no clue.

The saw works pretty well and has good reach and power. I will say extended its a bit more flexible than I'd like. Its actually a little on the heavy side, at least for the amount of flex in the pole, so the combo. makes things a little tricky. I was going to stand on a step ladder for a little extra height (when your 5'5" you need the help) but the pole is a little too unbalanced. The same applies for trying to climb into the tree and reach out to some of the branches I was going to trim.
