I think that this is a great offer that Scott made to give us an incentive to pump more life into the forum. It's beyond me why people are only interested in posting deals and not interested in posting replies. Remember the deals we post don't get 100 points unless they make it to the main page. But, unless the reply is totally meaningless, each reply gets you 25 points. Do the math,if you have the gift of gab, you can make more points replying than those that just post deals.

Come on guys/ladies, I think we can do much better than what we are currently doing.

Although I agree I must be missing something. I see items I want to reply to all the time but I click it and there is no place to reply. It will even state there are 5 replies but I see no where to reply. When I click the deal I end up on another site like slickdeals, fat wallet etc etc. It is especially frustrating when the deal is dead and you want to reply but you cant. Do you know if there is a way to post replies when on the "all new deals" or "only hot deals" page? Or can you only post replies from the forums page?

The 25 points are an incentive to post replies to deals on this forum not on the other forums. Consequently It only applies to dealighted.com forum posts and not the "only hot deals" page that consolidates deals, including ones from the other deal sites.

I hope this makes things a little clearer.

i did try to reply to few deals , but it just doesnt make any sense as nobody else talks in thread .

it is just a your reply and it goes cold.

thats why i feel better to post deals that way i can see my dels in hot del page and be happy about it

I agree that it is a little frustrating that there isn't a lot of "talking on the forum". It frustrates me too. But it's up to us to change that. If we don't take the initiative and set the example, the forum will be cold and not so interesting. Let's be patient and show perseverance. Scott is doing his job giving us incentives, let's do our job by keeping the site alive and interesting.

Well it really only takes a few people to start replying and once a little buzz gets going then hopefully we'll get more and more conversation and eventually it will catch like fire
