Default Deal/Post Ratings & Additional Forum Categories

Has the idea of being able to rate deals been tossed around? It would be a nice way to provide a flagging system for deal temperature.

Also, I would love to see additional forum categories - coupons in particular. It would be nice to have a separate forum for coupons so we could search just it for supplements to our deals in the Hot Deals forum.

An expired forum would be nice, too...but manually expiring so many deals sounds incredibly tedious. Perhaps a forum mod that allowed a way to enter a deal's expiration date with a default value if none is provided would be feasible.

There is a thread rating system, the drop down is the last in line on the top of the post. I see it used once in awhile (notice the stars now attached to this thread) but it doesn't look like its used much.

I've thrown out the idea of the coupon section a few times but so far no word.

An easy way to expire deals would be fantastic, adding a button that automatically marks a thread as dead would be cool. Going back over every thread to mark it or check it would be very tedious, from time to time I do mark a few but its a bit too time consuming to hit them all.

A proposed solution to the "repost" dilemma?

How about a feature that checks the title of a post against previous post titles and comes up with a warning, telling the submitter that the post may have already been submitted. The submitter can either cancel the submission OR submit anyway if the post is not truly a repeat.

Hmmmmmm . . . . . .

A repost checker would be nice - perhaps a search against the entire content of the post showing up before final submission of the post as the title can vary significantly even for the same deal. A definite red flag minimum would be the link content of the post - if there are link matches then there's a good chance it's a repost if not a new deal on a previously posted item.

Silly me saw the star rating...though perhaps it's location could be more convenient, such as somewhere more central to the starting point of the original post, such as the top left of the text area.
