Looks completely dead. 499153 returns no results (pre zip entry).

This is the second day I have tried, unsucessfully, to get this deal. The deal is air ware...it doesn't exist.

    true...

    Same here... :(

I just tried (only to verify) w/o success!
The thing is, I just got an e-mail from STAPLES (about an hour ago) with the subj. 'Online Savings Event -- Open Now" and the LAPTOP was still on it so I figured it's still a valid offer!
That's the source of the link too!

STAPLES should do something about it!

Staples customer service says the item is out of stock. The special is only for while items are available.

It sure would have been nice if Staples had told us approximately how many laptop computers were available. I wouldn't have wasted my time trying to get one if there were only a couple of them.

As it is now the laptop (S123) is not even listed anymore at the Staples web site. OOS for sure.

This circus show Staples pulled on the buying public did not impress me.

    Staples Toshiba laptop

    In all fairness to Staples...
I too really wanted one of these but when all these info. boards are out there and thousands ready to buy and getting early alerts I guess we can't expect Staples or any vendor to have unlimited supply...

I called them and they said they didn't know how but people were buying from midnight of the posted sale.

Well I knew why but wasn't going to tell them.

So lets just stay aleart for the next one!!

Unfortunately the deals boards are populated with ebay merchants who'd get into any deal that's out there and flip them out on ebay. Customers like me/us(?) who want stuff for our own lose out. I am talking generally, not specifically about this deal. I don't think these Satellite machines are that good and I am going to wait for the Dell deal to come back.

Dell recently had a P4 1.8 GHz laptop in their small business section that would have been $750 or less (if you had their 10% off coupon) AR with free shipping. I waited too long & the rebate expired (on Jan 22nd). All the computer makers had a terrible holiday season and the unsold machines will have to cleared out sooner or later. Dell of course has to go against these deals. So I'm betting there will be more deals in the not-too-distant future. In the mean time I keep looking for deals on DDR memory and an SD memory card for my new camera..

You're quite right about the e-bay guys!
I'll have to disagree with your opinion about the SATELLITE notebooks though! I own 2 of these and I'm really pleased... while I own a DELL one as well!
Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing/flaming here... it's just the fact that this S123 is worth the money for sure (even compared to the THANKSGIVING S103 deal)!
As a second thought, I never expect raw processing power from a notebook! (these machines purpose just don't need it)
    Just my thoughts...

My understanding is that both S103 and S123 use desktop cpu's. If that's true then they're terrible laptops. Did you read about this Swedish guy who burned his crotch by using a laptop literally (in his lap)? Wonder if that machine had a desktop cpu?
