Hyper Tough 20-Volt Lithium-ion Jobsite Radio, website link for reference:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hyper-.../907396289
Has Bluetooth and comes with a 20-Volt battery
YMMV In-Store, reduced from $39.99 to $9.00
Brickseek [brickseek.com]
Notes: 20V Battery is compatible with other 20V Hyper Tough tools,
including cordless drill that was previously clearanced out for $5 (or $9 in a set with other hand tools).
Unit does NOT include a separate battery charger as shown in picture on the website--battery charger function is built into the radio. In order to store station presets, you need to install 2 AAA batteries, not included. Sound is just ok, but to improve, you could try painting it yellow.
UPDATE: Appears the 20V battery is NOT compatible with my $5 Hyper Tough cordless drill, model AQ75032G. Slides in but not all the way, as terminals don't line up. Sigh...

No offense to your friend, but usually the only thing more unreliable than Brickseek are Walmart employees.
Brickseek is accurate. It is Walmart's inventory that has issues. Walmart's handheld for their employees will always match Brickseek. There are a plethora of reasons why Walmart's system is wrong though or the employee won't go look for them.

Is the 20V battery fully inserted? Do you have a voltmeter to check it, as well as the AC adapter? Or at least try to charge something from the USB outlet on the radio (with the AC adapter unplugged)? That might tell you if the battery has life, even if the radio is kaput.
