Hyper Tough 20-Volt Lithium-ion Jobsite Radio, website link for reference:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hyper-.../907396289
Has Bluetooth and comes with a 20-Volt battery

YMMV In-Store, reduced from $39.99 to $9.00
Brickseek [brickseek.com]

Notes: 20V Battery is compatible with other 20V Hyper Tough tools, including cordless drill that was previously clearanced out for $5 (or $9 in a set with other hand tools).
Unit does NOT include a separate battery charger as shown in picture on the website--battery charger function is built into the radio. In order to store station presets, you need to install 2 AAA batteries, not included. Sound is just ok, but to improve, you could try painting it yellow.

UPDATE: Appears the 20V battery is NOT compatible with my $5 Hyper Tough cordless drill, model AQ75032G. Slides in but not all the way, as terminals don't line up. Sigh...

Good Deal?

How reliable is brickseek? It shows 3 available at my Walmart, went there and even ask a worker (that I personally know) and he told me they don't even carry that product over there

Generally unreliable, for me. However I've found a few things hit or miss using it. In this case, there were 5 or so of these on a bottom shelf along side a bunch of other "Hyper Tough" tools, and NOT marked down, showing $39.99. Btw usually I find clearance items on the *top* shelf, and often hard to reach as well.

No offense to your friend, but usually the only thing more unreliable than Brickseek are Walmart employees.

Brickseek is accurate. It is Walmart's inventory that has issues. Walmart's handheld for their employees will always match Brickseek. There are a plethora of reasons why Walmart's system is wrong though or the employee won't go look for them.

Geez what will test rite products corp come up with next? It's tempting but their stuff makes harbor freight look like snap on. I wonder how durable this thing would be.

I was able to find one last on on the upper top shelf for 9$. Anyone know how it works? I know it charges a 20 volt battery on the bottom but does the radio run on only the two AAA in the back?

The two AA batteries in the back are only used to keep your station presets stored when you turn the radio off. You need to have the 20V battery inserted to use the radio.

EEK! When I bought it, it looked like someone opened it previously. I think mines broken. I charged it for a couple hours and it won't turn on. Is there an LED that turns on when it's charging?

No LED (that would be nice) or other indication it's charging. You do have to press and hold the power button for a second or two to either turn the radio on or off. It's not a sophisticated piece of gear.

Is the 20V battery fully inserted? Do you have a voltmeter to check it, as well as the AC adapter? Or at least try to charge something from the USB outlet on the radio (with the AC adapter unplugged)? That might tell you if the battery has life, even if the radio is kaput.

LMAO Thank you! I didn't know I had to hold it down for a few seconds (I would just keep clicking it lol). It works!
