Amazon's deal of the day: SK Hynix Gold S31 SSDs
1TB for $84.78: https://www.amazon.com/SK-hynix-G...B6KMG423ER
500GB for $47.98: https://www.amazon.com/SK-hynix-G...B6KMG423ER

1TB version is recommended. It has significantly better performance than the 500GB version.
And before you ask, yes, they have DRAM.

Well, it's not like Hynix is new to solid state technology...
FYI SSD prices have gone up as of late and I don't think those are "$15 more" anymore. I haven't seen a $100 1TB NVMe drive (not counting QLC) for a while.

Cheapest 1TB TLC NVMe drive I can find at the moment is $130 for the HP ex920. Edit: (DRAM-less) WD Blue SN550 is $120

Edit: I hadn't seen the front page (DRAM-less) WD Blue SN550 1TB deal for $100 yesterday, but point stands IMO, and I would pay a premium to avoid a DRAM-less drive.
Really, only $15 more, that sounds great. Mind sharing where you're getting that from? The 8200 is currently $149 (Amazon,1tb), which by my peasant math skills is about $65 more expensive. Looking forward to your link for where it's currently $100..

and that's aside from the asininity of your statement that either of the ssds you mentioned are in any way, shape or form 'ghetto'

Also the 250GB for $38.
It was cheaper a few months ago, but currently it's slightly cheaper than other models.

But these are just middling SSDs. Their 5-year warranty is nice, but I'd prefer the Crucial MX500 or WD Blue.

I like Samsung's SSD's. But storage in general is cheap. Don't need to be particular.

They are pretty new in the consumer market, IIRC no retail SSD product before 2019, so not sure how good their support is

However considering they experience in the semiconductor filed, plus it's just low end SSDs anyways, I wouldn't worry much unless they really cheaped out lol

With that being said, I got a 1TB Gold last month, not much usage yet but so far so good. Amazon didn't want to adjust the price for me so I ordered one at $85 to do some DIY price adjustment LMAO

Yea if you're stuck on sata, this is a fine drive. Price is kinda steep, so pretty much ONLY for people stuck on sata.

Only the 1TB has good speed, the smaller ones are less than half the throughput.

Even ghettoer nvme ssds like the sx8200/ ex950 , they are approximately twice as fast as this drive for $15 more. Keep that in mind when buying.
OT, but not sure if it's my luck or not, but so far I experience much higher failure rate with NVME drives compared to SATA

I only have 1 nvme slot which is taken up already. This is a great replacement for my secondary 1tb 7200 RPM hdd. Thanks OP!

The WD Blue 1TB Nvme SSD was $100 yesterday, or $85 with a student discount. It was a front page deal.

How is the price kinda steep? Show us ANY 1TB SSD that is significantly less than $85.

Waiting...
