Never owned WeMo, so cannot compare. However, these TP-Link plugs have been absolutely reliable in our household. So reliable that we put these on the outlets of other hardware pieces (e.g., security cameras) that have a tendency of acting up. This way we can reboot them remotely (very useful when we are traveling).
Like any technology products, YMMV because if you hit a wrong lot, you can have a mess when everyone else who bought from other good lots sails smoothly.

We own HS100s, 103s, and 105s. The oldest is over three years old. Never had any problem with any of these TP-Link plugs. It is possible that our luck has something to do with the fact that we have mesh routers that leave no Wi-Fi dead spots in the house.

However, we have used other so-called 'smart' products in the same house that have made us weep (e.g., GE 'C' light bulbs). Not these TP-Link products. We have TP-Link smart bulbs too, and they do not act up, either.

I am not a TP-Link shill. The above just happens to be our household's experience.

Anyone with experience with these versus WeMo? I currently have WeMo but I have had issues with the app not seeing the WeMo plugs and/or switches which can be frustrating when trying to use them.

I had both ..but I found kasa better in terms of setup , features and mobile app . Wemo does claim to connect with Apple home ..but never got it work and the my wemo plug resets frequently .
