    has anyone owned these kind of beverage coolers that last at least 5 years hopefully more? no matter what brand i see good amount of reviews of them failing quick

    I purchased this same unit a year and a half ago and it's running along well so far. The only tweak I made was tightening down the compressor bolts a hair which made it a bit quieter. I have it down to the lowest setting which is 34 degrees. The temp does get down to 34 near the back of the fridge but it's not a super consistent temp all around and towards the front. I think the fan is just not strong enough or maybe doesn't run often enough to move the air around the entire unit. Overall I'm happy and would purchase again. It's been a great beer/wine fridge and looks nice even as a standalone unit.

    thanks. i see some brands selling for 700-1000. I'm like BRUH at that price you should just get a real fridge and put it in the garage.

    I had a similar model that I bought at Sam's Club for about $180. It was smaller. It took forever to get to beverages to temp, only lasted a few months before it stopped working. Thank god I bought it from Sam's as they didn't have any time limit on returning. Instead of getting a replacement I took a refund. I went to Home Depot and replaced it with a 2-door 11 cu ft Whirlpool top freezer (black). Still a tiny fridge and since I didn't buy it for under counter use appearance didn't matter as much. No glass door, but an immense increase in space that I greatly appreciate now. The cooling was night and day too, faster and more adjustable (super cold if you want). It also has a usable frostless freezer to boot. It's been the perfect beer/frozen shot fridge for the last three years. I paid around $400 on sale, but it's gone up to $500 now. It was worth it to me for something that I knew I could buy and probably not have to worry about (no extended warranty). It just works like any kitchen fridge.

    If the glass door (appearance) or smaller size is vital this Insignia doesn't look too bad for the money. The auto defrost is crucial because most of these small coolers form a huge chunks of ice on the back wall and you have to defrost (a real pain). Hopefully the wire shelves don't suck with beer bottles, some do. If you do buy it I'd pay the $59.99 for the 4 year extended warranty, or at least the 2 year for $39.99. If it makes it 2 years you're probably good to go.
