Are there better options? This seems like a good deal to get into a cordless vacuum.

I'm in the same boat. Bought this one with the additional Redcard discount but not sure if another Dyson model/version is a better deal.
This one from Target is basic V8 cordless vacuum. It comes with the standard direct drive cleaner head and by looking at photos from target reviews, maybe a mini soft dusting attachment.
If you have nothing but carpets and rugs, this would do the job.
If you have wooden floors/etc, you'll definitely wanna get the model with soft roller cleaner head(as Dyson named it) or 'fluffy' roller attachment(as it's commonly called).
Some reviewers suggest that direct drive cleaner head(standard attachment on target model) can scratch certain types of floors.
Also, fluffy rollers will pickup larger objects much better on floors/tiles.
This fluffy roller isn't cheap if purchased separately, but a must have for non-carpet floors in my opinion.
So getting the 'Absolute' model can be the better deal depending on the sale pricing.
Refer to the Dyson website below and compare the tools & attachments that 'Absolute' model and 'Animal' model comes with.
Notice that Animal model doesn't come with the fluffy roller also.
In short, if you have carpet then Target basic motorhead is probably fine for you.
If you have non-carpet, or you want the attachments to clean beds/curtains/cars/tight places/etc, then get the 'Absolute' model.

Wife: Honey, the vacuum isn't sucking anymore.
Me: Frustrating, isn't it?
