And add in the cheap 2 - cell battery (how much lower can lenovo go? 1 cell? 1/2 cell?) which won't get you anywhere near the 7.5 hours of battery time they claim.

This is now only $450. Does it make for a good desktop alternative since the brightness and battery life are the cons?

I'm not familiar with specs, but I see this has an i7 with a 256 SSD. Similar desktop towers seem to be going for a lot more. The added portability and touch screen seems to be just a bonus if you look at it as a desktop PC.

Appreciate anyone's input.

It doesn't appear to have a LAN port so you'll need to be running it on WIFI if that's the case. Something you may want to consider if using this as a work station. Beside that it's pretty hard to beat for the build at this price, all the whiner's complaints about screen resolution aside.

I agree with y'all. I only want this for light gaming and this will work beautifully. The Intel Core i7-1065G7 is 5th place with all the other mid-high performance processors. I could care less about the 760p, that's up-gradable. Or just use a 4k monitor. My only issue is the integraded (iGPU), I would totally upgrade it for better gaming but because it's integrated, I can't do it. The other plus is the 4.2 GHz overclock. (it says 3.9 but I can get it up).

AS A SUMMARY, while I have not tested this computer hands-on. The data doesn't lie people. It's insanely fast for 449$ rn. It's usually 800-1000$

normally I would agree with you, except the 11th tiger lake with Iris XE igpu is much faster than Iris Plus.
