Home Depot [homedepot.com]

has this Sportsman Generator on sale for less than 24 hours. 4,000/3,500-watt Dual Fuel Powered Portable Generator, Runs on LPG or Regular Gasoline

there are other Sportsman generators on sale too, like the gas only [homedepot.com] for $249.

Unfortunately, it does not help our brothers and sisters in California as this is not Carb-Compliant.

Bought one, thanks! I had my eye on it last time it was deal of the day, but forgot about it. Got the warranty too after reading the reviews on cheap hoses/plastics instead of rubber and inability to repair the engine locally. We'll see, hopefully if there is a hurricane, it'll save our food and let us run the window A/C.

Can you link 2 of these generators together? We need some good ones for camping that we can link together!

Can anyone comment on the AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) and how that impacts use with with modern electronics, or how this might relate to an inverter generator? Intended use is for modern refrigerator with LCD display panel, charging computers, etc. during power outages.

Seeing no Answers to your good question, I googled for a comparison between AVR and inverter, and apparently an inverter, being digital and doing a more complex processing of the output, gives a more uniform output than AVR ....... basically every basic generator uses AVR technology.

This might not be expensive, but it's output could damage electronics over time, since AVR output isn't as-purifed as inversion.
