They have been this price for a long time, but it is a great price IMO. I got this set in 2019 and liked it enough to buy it 4 more times since then to give as gifts. The laser tip sounds like a gimmick but it really does grip the screws.

Technically the insulation will save you if for some reason you must work on live home or high voltage wiring. More practically, if you work on low voltage projects (arduino, car, computer, etc) it stops you from accidentally shorting two things together with the metal shaft, and letting the smoke out.

I just bought the Wiha set, isn't Wiha more durable? I am guessing the draw for Wera is that it is $8 cheaper

I've had both - build quality for both seems to be about even, but I think the Wera handles are the most comfortable. I kept the Wera and loaned (permanently?) the Wiha set to a friend doing a kitchen renovation.

I love the Wiha miniature drivers, but the Wera's are def my favorite full size screwdriver.

I ended up returning them for some Milwaukees. I like the grip more on those haha
