what do you guys think of this vs $400 echelon ex prime?

in store only Costco, item 2621050, no online link, https://costcofan.com/costco-proform-bike/

I think difference between CBC vs CTC is just the screen/tablet

Would love to hear feedback on this model from someone here who has owned/used this. I do see quite a few negative reviews on the Costco site. I do understand happy customers generally not post reviews and unhappy ones do.

i just renewed iFit on my nordictrack bike for more than this ( a year at $396), seems like pretty much a free bike to me.

I read that this bike doesn't work with iFit correctly. When the trainer says "We're going up a hill now, it's going to get harder", this bike does the opposite and makes it easier. And, it increases resistance going downhill. It basically does the opposite of what it should with the online training. If you're planning to use it with iFit, I would think again. That's one of the reasons it so steeply discounted.

I have this bike it doesn't do that.

Overall the bike is a great buy. Note you need to use your own laptop or smartphone.

The bike has magnetic resistance which is a steal at this price. Out of the box the maxed out resistance was crap. But you can fiddle with the nut above the magnet to get it so that when it's maxed out its barely missing the wheel which increases resistance greatly!

edit- I'm silly I got the one right before this one came out at Costco. apparently this new one comes with its own screen. I imagine that the tip about the resistance magnet still applies.

double edit- I think the link above is a different bike than the one in store. I don't think the one in store comes with a tablet/screen just like mine.

I just purchased this bike yesterday, I haven't set it up yet.

This was the cheapest bike I can find that has a belt drive, versus a chain drive, and digital magnetic resistance, versus a mechanical resistance using felt/leather, I feel this provides the long term value justifying the added cost.

The bike on Costco's website and the image used on this thread, isn't the same $385 bike. They look the same, but the $385 dollar bike doesn't have an added touch screen, you can use your iPad.

This guy does a number of comparisons between this bike a few others, it compares favorably:

So does the $385 have a big screen in front of the bike?

No it's a small old style monochrome lcd screen. It does allow you to control the resistance digitally, or via the iFit app.

Call and ask for Item Number 2621050. If they don't have it, ask if any other stores locally do or ask when the system says they'll get more. I'd move fast on them, as the stores by me received few units and they sold out relatively quickly. I was able to get one and like it for the price, but I'm trying to figure out which style of adapter I need to change the seat as I'd like a softer more comfortable one.

I bought this from costco early in jan.. seemed like a good deal plus the costco peace of mind is priceless... Used a month long free ifit membership since i didn't want to activate the 1 year subscription.. My thought so far was that the bike resistance feels high on 1 with maybe a slight change when it goes up to max.. i was expecting 1 to be easy. Not sure if i need to be doing something to fix it.

This bike has an aggressive stance, notice how leaned forward the girl is in the picture and her but is not even on the seat.

I would not recommend this to anyone looking to get one who is out of shape.
