Getting harder to justify now that Gen 4.0 is coming on Intel.

Thought youtubers showed not much more real world speed advantage with pcie4 nvme ssd.
There was a destructive firmware update leaked that supposedly fixes some slowdown issues with stock firmware.

I updated one of my drives about 6-months ago. Didn't notice much difference, but no issues either. No official non-destructive firmware update has ever been released, so if you buy this and want the update, you might consider doing it before cloning your old drive or installing fresh OS to it.

Obviously they are both very fast but yeah you probably won't notice a difference unless you are swapping HUGE files between drives that are each on independent PCIe lanes. Most programs can't load quick enough to make any difference. My Optane 900P boot drive is about 3x faster in 4K random, which I feel helps slightly in windows responsiveness, reading and writing small files. The new Optane P5800X Gen 4.0 is a beast.
