Costco's ad starting March 10 - April 4 is showing T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S21 5G for $599.99 limit 5.
Warehouse only. Qualified activation of postpaid plan at Wireless Center required + taxes.
This sounds like their typical new line or existing upgrades and no trade-in required and no bill credits.

So how can someone that already has t-mobile take advantage of any deals without needing a new line? Or is there a trick to activate a new line and then cancel after a certain period? I'd like a deal on a new phone but paying for an extra line of service seems as if it would end up negating any savings on the phone since I'd be paying for a line that isn't being used.

Bought the s20 off google fi for 400 plus a few months of service, total to 450ish.

Not sure if this is worth the upgrade for me. Lower ram 8gb vs 12gb, no micro sd, locked to Tmobile, the only thing I'll get is the ultra wide band 5g.

This is actually what you're looking for. The upgrade is on an existing line, meaning current customers don't need to add a line or trade in another device like other "deals". The price is up front and out the door at costco only.

Last time I bought on such deal was S10 for $400 in August 2019. Somehow S21 doesn't feel as worth 50% inflation for 1.5 years...Considering that Samsung updates for only two years, I already feel that even $400 was way too much...To me, this phone is not worth the asked money - no accessories, no SD slot, no headphone jack. Just the accessories alone are worth around $50. In my opinion, the phone would be an OK deal if $300-350 at max.
Otherwise, this is the best such deal as of now

Great deal on March 10th without a tradein.

The tradein deal with a S9 for S21 is still active this week and still a better deal. So it is best to buy a used S9 for around $200 and do a tradein at samsung.com, tmobile, att, verizon, etc.

Trading in your phone doesn't give you a lower price unless the price they give you is above the market value.

Too many of you people don't even understand intrinsic value and that they're not doing you a favor by giving you $200 for your $400 phone to "lower" the price.
