Sounds like you are comparing Non-OEM pricing to OEM pricing. Of course OEM toner is expensive. It always is. Never seen Dell OEM toner for $25

thank you for this. some of the first info I seek to know. I actually asked about this on another laser printer on SD and some shcmuck tried to chastise me for it.

The question is if there are good generic toners that you can buy. Why will you buy a printer that won't let you use alternate generic toner ? Toners are for companies to make extra $$$, I would try to get a canon printer instead. Check Amazon reviews if people had success using generic toners for this printer
