The Union & Scale FlexFit™ Kroy Mesh Task Chair is currently on sale for $119.99 (down from $169.99). Combine with promo code 51168 to get the chair for $99.99 total.

Whereas the Kroy used to be an uncomfortable, low-quality offering, the recent update to its design has made the Kroy a surprisingly comfortable and supportive mesh office chair. Having tried it in-store, I can attest that the Kroy is more ergonomic that the Hyken and Dexley because its armrests go low enough not to be used, whereas the Hyken and Dexley's armrests stay rather high in their lowest position, forcing you to rest your elbows and forearms on them at all times. This can lead to painful nerve damage and even cubital tunnel syndrome if you are prone to such issues.

Unfortunately, the Kroy suffers from a high minimum seat height of 18.9", suitable for those 5'9"+ assuming average proportions. However, a shorter person could enjoy the Kroy if using a footrest, as the Kroy's seat pan depth is comparable to that of the Hyken. If you're under 5'8" and using an average-height desk (29-30"H), you should be using a footrest anyway; otherwise, you have to reach upward/outward with your elbows, straining your shoulder muscles, resting your arms' weight on the armrests, and/or placing your forearms/wrists on the desk surface, putting you at risk of various musculoskeletal disorders over time. It is important to keep your shoulders relaxed while typing/mousing by letting your elbows hang loose by your sides (armrests may be used part-time for added support, but with limited weight placed on the elbows/forearms).

The Kroy is also available for the same price in blue mesh back with black fabric seat [staples.com] and similar but slightly different dimensions. I have not tried the blue model.

Thanks for your personal review/summary OP! As a cubital tunnel syndrome sufferer, this looks pretty good!

What exactly has been updated in the Kroy and when did this update happen? I have a Kroy purchased about 2 years ago and wondering if this would be different in any way. I have had to stop using it because the hard edges on the left and right side of the seat dig into the sides of my legs, especially as the seat begins to sag from my weight over time. Is the seat identical in this update?

Looks OK, but when you can get a Dexley for $119.99 or Hyken for $129.99, I don't see much reason to buy this one that doesn't have a headrest.

Looks like the picture is incorrect. Doesn't appear to have a mesh seat. Description says "Features mesh back with contoured padded seat".

The blue one seems to have padding in the pictures.

@OP how's the chair for long periods? My work requires me to sit 10 hours in front of a laptop. I got some chair from Amazon and while it looks good, it's not comfortable for a tall person.

It's mentioned in the description that the blue mesh back chair has padded seating. They also provided a link at the end of description for that specific chair

Headrests are not recommended unless absolutely necessary due to neck pain or neck muscle strength issues. Headrests get in the way of neck stretches, and relying on a headrest can actually lead to neck muscle strength issues.
