People might have know this, but it was definitely new to me. I was searching eBay, Swappa, and local facebook marketplace to get a iPhone 12 Pro Max with some good discount, but Apple products tend to hold their value pretty well. You might see $100 discount for a used iPhone if you are lucky. Plus eBay and Swappa now charge tax, not much advantages any more. While, you do see some deep discount on facebook marketplace or other local marketplace, but things are good to be true. Scammer everywhere.
So I googled on the Military discount on Apple to find out that Apple now has dedicated miliary store and almost everything is 10% off. I think it is a good deal to use my good credit card (in this case I am using Chase Sapphires Preferred, because I needed to meet my spending requirement for the sign up bonus. and the credit card has good purchase protection and extended warranty, which is always good to use for big ticket items. The free insurances from credit cards are VALUES many people still don't know.)
So I am very happy with this purchase.
in case you don't know that you can save 10% on Apple with your military status. Here you go!
Happy Saving!

I thought about getting it from Walmart thru my Verizon account. But you have to sign the contract with them and then pay it off. It is just not nice and clean in the receipt for the future purchase protection and extended warranty claims thru your credit card insurance company. That is why I chose this route.
I paid the iPhone off three days after buying it. The purchase protection still works when doing that. My son broke his screen on his iPhone and Amex reimbursed me for the cost of the phone.
It's better then bill credits for sure.

Yep, agree! I have done it a few times for the iPhone SE from Walmart!
Good to know! I was also looking at the refurbished iPhone 11 Pro Max. But decided to go with a new iPhone 12 Pro Max. But I didn't know that there is additional discount for the refurbished iPhones. I have bought a refurbished iPad on Apple a few year ago. It packaged and looked just like new. No difference for me. And it is still working today, it might be a iPad 4th Generation.
Yep. It depends on the state's tax law. But I really miss the old days that no tax on eBay and swappa. Tax saving alone is a good discount for expensive phones.
Yep, totally agree. When Ebay started collecting tax when I buy some guys used shit, that made it real easy to minimize my purchases with them, or have the item shipped to a friend where no tax was charged. IL is the absolute WORST with taxes on nearly eventing Everything
