Home Depot has various Rheem Performance Platinum Hybrid Electric High Efficiency Smart Water Heaters on sale as listed below. This model includes the auto leak detector which the other current major slick deal does not. Select free store pickup to save on delivery.

Available sizes:
65-Gallon (XE65T10HD50U1) $1659.99
80-Gallon (XE80T10HD50U1) $1,869.99

Edited to remove 50 gallon as there is a better deal on that currently going on. However if you want the auto shutoff leak detector and a 65 or 80 gallon, this seems to be the best deal in the past 6 months.

Normal price you can get about $600 on rebates

How? I've never seen the 80 gallon less than this. I must be missing something

Just for clarification those are different models. The one your referencing doesn't have the auto shut off leak detector. Also that only applies to the 50 gallon. If someone needs the 65 or 80 gallon, this seems to be the best deal. I edited the post to reflect this.

I've had the 50 gallon for about 2 months and have been happy with it.

Things I learned:
- Expect to pay more for installation of hybrids. How much depends on the plumber you use and how much work it is to run a condensate drain.
- Some plumbers won't install water heaters they don't sell you.
- The best and most reliable water heater brands are only sold direct to plumbers.
- These water heaters have a minimum square footage in the room they are installed, otherwise you need to add venting.
- Hybrid water heaters don't recover as fast as pure electric, but you can make up for that by scheduling peak usage times in the app when it will supplement more with electric.

I have the smaller 50gal unit for a year now, no complaints and was able to get a $600 rebate. Total used for last year was 550kWh and roughly on pace to do about the same useage this year. So <100 a year to run.

Wow, these things have jumped in prices. I got my 80 gallon about 2 years ago at around $1,200 and I think that was their normal non-discount price.

You bought at a good time. The previous administration imposed a 25% tariff on water heaters, among many other types of goods.

Had an issue with Rheem and they did not want to pay my plumber who spent time dealing with the issue.
