Not the lowest it's ever been there (279.99), but below msrp and available at some locations. Also, usual $20 off with compatible motherboard.

It's good for that particular cpu as it's been retail or higher and sometimes hard to find. Value wise I think 10th gen Intel is the way to go right now. Prices on 10th gen aren't as good at the moment as they have been recently, but none the less...10600k not quite as good but in same ball park, but nearly $100 less....10700k, same but more cores so getting in that win some lose some territory for $40 less.....or spend a little more for 10900k but with 5600x creeping down a bit and it up a bit, there's less value in doing that just because unless you could really use the multi core performance. That's my 2 cents.

If you get the Intel, you'll need to spend $75-100 on a AIO cooler and $50-100 more for a motherboard with upgraded VRMs to handle the extra voltage Intel chips need to pump through their chips to try to get closer to the performance of AMDs superior technology.
It dropped nearly $100, in 2 months.... Another $25 won't take 2 years - trust me.
It didn't drop $100...the msrp of this chip is $299. That's just the inflated custom set price from 3rd party resellers. No official retailer listing is selling it for close to $400. Newegg and Amazon have 3rd party resellers on their site that list it for that much, but Amazon and Newegg themselves sell it as MSRP.

There is an argument over long term use. 10600k+ runs at 200watts vs 65/85watts for the 5600x, so your electric bill each month will be a tad lower going AMD vs Intel.

Keep waiting as it'll eventually hit that mark in another month or two.

This chip is listed online between $350 and $375. Which was the price the big retailers set it at. The chip on AMD right now is listed at $369.99
Which is why this won't go much lower until well after the new AMD chips come out later this year.
And no, I just went to their site, and it's $299.00 which is what they've had it at since launch.
