They won't be setting any benchmark records but they are exceptionally fast and durable for the price point - And at this reduced price point it's a no-brainer.
Let me toss out a couple use case scenarios for these that I have had perfect success with:
4K video transfer. Raw data - Panasonic Sony and Nikon mirrorless - transferred to these from an Atmos external recorder - No issues and perfect bit for a bit accuracy.
Video editing scratch disk. I like to separate my scratch disks from my OS drive and this gives me plenty of storage to work with even the largest uncompressed raw video or picture files.
OBS uncompressed or lossless screen recording. I have a 4K monitor from Dell and I often want extremely high quality charts and graphs recorded for clients. Uncompressed data can be massive in size - obviously using an Nvidia encoder is more efficient - But with the chip shortage for graphics cards that's not always an option for people.
And lastly I have converted one of these to an external nvme drive with an aluminum enclosure purchased from Amazon. 2TB at these prices through USB C is perfect to have out in the field.
Only negative is slight throttling occasionally during sustained writes...... look at options for heat sinks and a little bit of thermal paste on new egg or Amazon. $10 or $15 and you can get 8 to 10% additional performance.
