No, I think the new ones retail for ~$200-$220. $89 is the normal refurbished price.

I bought a C535 refurbished from them about 2.5 wks ago and it came with new hepa/carbon filter. The outer body also appears new.
I'm guessing the only used parts are the internal body/motor.

Note that the C535 I purchased arrived with a motor that makes a ticking noise. Warranty replacement has been approved, but going on 2 weeks now and still not shipped. Email says it can take up to 30 days before they ship. Still waiting.

123 new on amazon and winix cs is top of the line trash and many refurb get sent with issues or missing hepa filter then wont help. They want you to pay to return even if they are at fault. This company loves scamming send trash % most be pissed and just toss rather send back and they get profit selling big portion boinked. Research there company they are so evil af. They screwed me once and 2 out of 5 friends. f them

Winix C555 from Costco for $230 for the same features as the 6300, but best warranty & customer service.

If you are willing to take your chances, Refurb 6300-2R direct from Winix. I can purchase 3 of them for the price of 1 Costco unit.

Some will say box fan, but it costs just as much and you lose other features ie timer, carbon filter, pre filter, remote, aesthetics, etc. You may gain slightly higher CADR with a box fan though, depending on fan/filter selection.

Regarding my defective unit, they did approve the warranty replacement next business day after submitting a warranty claim online - no problems. It just takes a long time for them to ship another one out. Another user on SD got his replacement close to the 30 day mark. I did not contact CS and try to obtain a refund.

As always, be nice to CS reps. They don't own Winix. They didn't send you a defective unit. They just happened to answer your phone call and are the ones who can help - or not, depending.

I have a Winix from a deal some time ago. They're loud at max setting, fan is weak so you need to run max to move air, and it tell me I need a filter like every 4mo, which are about $50 or so. All in all, not a good value despite the fact that they seem to go on sale all the time, they get you with the filters. Find one with cheap upkeep and ongoing costs.
