It's should be ultrwide quad hd or UWQHD. UHD would be 4K or 8K. Not sure if this "nano ips" and HDR is worth an extra $200. It's also just 75hz refresh.
This seems like a good deal. I'm looking for a ultra wide screen monitor to use for work. Need USB-C for my laptop. I don't do any graphic work but don't mind spending a little more to get something that will give a great picture since I spend 8 hours/day looking at it. The choices and options are overwhelming though. From those with experience, would this be a good choice for an all-purpose work monitor? FWIW I don't do any gaming so I don't think I need a high refresh rate.

As long as your laptop is okay with a 60w charger. Macbook pro i think uses 85w for example.
I still think its better off to just get a $300 34" ultrawide and use the money else where

Double his recommendation, this is overpriced for what we are getting. I have the non curved version of this monitor that I picked up last year for less than $400. I also have 2 curved non Ultrawide Dell ones (32") that I also got for around $300, you could put the Dells together and pay less than this one. Here is an example link of the DELL deal, it seems to return ever other month or so. Good Luck either way...
Something is off here. The same LG monitor has been on my hit list for awhile. On Amazon, the Nano LED one was $1350, which recently came down to $1100 or so, it depends when you check the product.
The Amazon one lists the resolution as 2160p, while Tiger is showing 1440p, which is QHD based, not 4K based.
That listing is by a 3rd party seller, not Amazon themselves. 34BK95U is the 5k model. That being said, I don't think this one is very slick given that 34GN850 is just $150 dollars more. The increased smoothness from the high refresh rate is noticeable even for general productivity tasks like browsing through spreadsheets or dragging items. The only pro I can think of for this model is the lack of LG logo on the lower bezel.
I just returned a Samsung 32inch ultra wide. The resolution looks crappy when connected to a MacBook. All text appear washed out and the images look like crap.
If you are used to the MacBook Pro resolution, this will feel like a step back in time. Either pony up the cash and get the LG 5K 2K monitor, or pass on this and get a regular 27inch LG ultra fine 5K monitor.
This is a waste of money unless you are on a budget.

Just to add to this, even with intel based macbook pros (Usb-C models) having up to 87-96 watt chargers, they arent even close to consuming that kind of wattage almost ever. So even a 60-65 watt power delivery should do just fine for anyone wanting to keep an Intel based MBP charged up. For example my i5-8400H windows laptop which uses a 45 watt chip typically is consuming 25-35 watts on average while doing light workload stuff. It's only going to be in intense CPU workloads the higher wattage MBP's will be pulling closer their max wattage which for 99.9% of people isn't very often.

15 or so years ago I used to use them exclusively it's kind of sad to see that they aren't very good anymore

Here's a link. Anyone know what is going on here?
