Got the last Pods deal on this Hawaiian blend. Very bright, very acidic/sharp, herbal/floral notes. This isn't a true Kona as that's a much higher price (as I was corrected retail costs would be much more than 3-5x) . I personally prefer a darker roast of any coffee, but especially Kona.
But let's all remember coffee is a very personal taste profile. What I like you may hate and Vice versa. So if you're a fan of light and acidic coffee this may be your jam.
Coffee fun fact: the lighter the roast the higher the caffeine the higher the acidity. This is contrary to popular belief as most think darker coffee with its bolder taste will have more caffeine.
Caffeine is a heat sensitive chemical and content is lowered the darker you go. Acidity is reduced as well, but not via the same process.
More coffee facts: this type of coffee benefits from harder water. If you have soft water like mine it's gonna taste poor. Coffee is 98-99% water and you better believe the type of water you use is just as if not more important than the beans you use. This is why our company installs filters on machines connected to water lines.
Disclosure: I work for a coffee company, but I'm reviewing this as a consumer. I just enjoy trying coffee.

True kona is 20-30x the cost of this. Kona blends will run from 8-30 dollars

you are correct, my comparison was not fair. I was comparing this retail to whole sale roasted. At wholesale prices you could get roasted Kona for mid 20s.
Arabica green is about 1.4? And green kona is $17ish. These prices change daily so it can vary. That's also buying in enormous quantities.
First of all, you shouldn't discredit any format of coffee. It may not be the gold cup standard, but only an uniformed snob would outright reject coffee pods. They have a place in the market. But seeing how rude you are- it makes sense.
I went with the k cups in this situation as I wanted to see how they could get compostable pods for so cheap. After some research and speaking to our procurement contacts At their $13.xx retail they're definitely losing money. It's not a big competitor for us so we hadn't tried it in the office.
We do mostly bean to cup and fractional packs in the office. But staying up on what competitors innovation is putting out is kind of important.
