Picked this up last week, wasn't really sure if it was worth posting or not, but I see that many people were interested in the 6-tool kit that was posted for $221, and this works out to just about the same price per tool, so figured I'd make sure everyone was aware. The 4 tool kit on its own is currently going for $199, but with the 70-piece Driving Bit Set included price drops to $158.97. Can also use the $5 off $50 coupon for signing up for the email list to bring it to $153.97 - shipping is free or can get shipped to store.

EDIT: Getting a lot of downvotes with no feedback - the 6 tool kit (same thing as this kit plus Multi-Tool and 5.5" Circular Saw) going for $221 got 80 upvotes and went frontpage. $221/6 = $36.83/tool. $159/4 = $39.75/tool - ~$3 difference in price per tool, and that does not factor in the value of the batteries/charger/bag. If you give the batteries, charger, and bag a value of $50, then $171/6 = $28.50/tool and $109/4 = $27.25/tool. These deals are very comparably priced, and if you don't want the multi-tool or the circular saw, I see this as a much better option.

You want "feedback"? Its simple:

a) a Flashlight is NOT a "tool". Its a throw in/filler. Almost no one wants/needs one, let alone pay almost $30 for one. So think of each deal as a 5 Tool + Filler, and 3 Tool + Filler deal.

b) So that makes the 5 tool deal, a much better deal, than the 3 tool deal.

I'm very lost. This is $70 cheaper and you get a 4ah and 1.5. Isn't that alone about $70. Then you get an extra 3 tools for $88. Isn't that not a bad deal? The flashlight, drill bits, charger and bag are just extras but not bad for free?

Yes it's a good discount if you compare against ordering everything individually at retail price, it's just not that compelling compared against other Ryobi sale prices and deals.

This is completely false - in the OP I compared it against the 6 tool kit currently being offered for $221 and it is basically the same price per tool.

Alright you jerk - let's compare it without the flashlight if you think you're so smart. Assume the flashlight has a value of $10, along with $50 for the batteries/charger/bag. That makes it $161/5 = $32.20/tool or $99/3 = $33/tool ALMOST THE EXACT SAME PRICE. EVEN if you assume the flashlight has a value of ZERO - $171/5 = $34.20/tool; vs $109/3 = $36.33/tool. If you don't need the multi tool or the circular saw this is CLEARLY a better deal. How's about you actually provide some numbers showing the 5 tool deal is a "much better deal" than the 3 tool deal - because no matter how I crunch the numbers they work out to almost exactly the same price per tool, REGARDLESS of whether you consider the flashlight a tool or not. Take your sarcastic attitude elsewhere.

Thanks for the support but don't even waste your breath... This site is so political that if people decide your deal sucks it sucks, no amount of reason will change anything. I show data showing this deal works out to the same price per tool as another deal that was very successful, and because a couple of trolls comment saying its a bad deal without providing any data, it gets thumbed down.

a) Your right, numbers wise. But most people have atleast a drill/driver, if not MORE than 1 tool.

b) So when we are looking to buy these bundles, we are looking for "upgrade bang" can we get for our buck.

The more tools one has, the more one "discounts" the existence of that tool in the bundle. So if I have a drill driver, I may value upgrading to a "new" one at "only" $10.

Thats where the larger tool set (so someone who has only a drill driver, is get 4-5 "new" tools, vs 2-3) proves a better deal.

IF someone has NOTHING, and dont want the additional 2 tools, your numbers make more sense.

I understand your logic but both of these sets have the same 4 base tools - neither set is geared towards someone who already has a drill/driver. The price/tool is almost the same between the 6 tool set and the 4 tool set, so it's not like you're getting that second driver for $10 in the 6 tool set vs. $30 in the 4 tool set. In either case you are paying ~$30/tool. I feel like both sets are geared towards someone who has no tools to start, one is more geared towards a basic homeowner (4 tool), the other more towards a DIYer (6 tool), and since they both provide similar value in terms of price/tool I'm a little surprised one was received so well and one so poorly. Thanks for taking the time to discuss it with me though, this is the kind of feedback I was hoping for.
