HA! Same! I need to do this on my small lawn... renting the mega gas machine at the rental place is $80 for four hours. so two uses out of this and I am in the green... probably easier to manage too.

Keep in mind this model is discontinued, they have released a new version. It has gone on sale for $110 to $120 in the past, so it really should be on clearance brand new for this price IMO.

Would rather not gamble with one that someone attempted to put together and/or use then returned.

"Certified refurbished" means some guy at the warehouse gave it a quick glance as it came back in the door.

Seems like the changes between the new models is that they just made them an inch or two wider. This seems like a great deal along with the warranty.

The new one comes with a 2 year warranty and isn't "a bunch of parts thrown in a beat up box" like the reviews say. I'll wait for this one to go on clearance or the new version to go on sale (can't thatch this time of year anyway, have to wait until fall or early spring).

The new version of the 801 is the 798, same specs as the 801 with what looks like a redesign of the handle/lever. The 805 is the bigger version and has been around for a while, no idea why their site says "new" on it.

List price on the new 798 is $130 so once it is in stock places it should be less than that especially when it goes on sale.

The new one is in short supply. It will force people to buy the discontinued model until sold out and then they'll start ramping up production on the new model. This prevents them from going on clearance.
