If you already use a magnetic mount for your phone in your car you should get a magnetic mount for your desk. Much easier than the clamp style. Tablets have no choice to get these.

I purchased this exact one for my iPad, holds it nice and secure but extended arm does have a little movement (bounce) when using iPad and touching screen. I would say the arm is pretty stable, but not perfect.

I bought this exact item on June 18, 2020. It broke almost instantly. Very cheap plastic. Do not tighten it much, or it will break. Amazon would not let me review it because it thinks that there are too many fake reviews about it, but the bad reviews are real, IF Amazon would let you post.

Bought this last time it was posted, not good for tablets. Ended up using as a mount for a webcam. It doesn't have the strength to hold the weight of an 9.7" iPad. And as others mentioned, you can't tighten the joints too much, they will strip due to plastic parts.
