I found uses for Christmas tree lights and some night stand lights. You can put a set timer off on these to limit the charging of your phone to like 45 minutes. My son likes to use Google to turn off his lights.

A little cheaper, and no extra app to install. Reviews are decent, too. I just need it to control my home office fan (should have ordered the one with the remote, dang it).
So how do you control the timer it if no app?

Just actually used these myself. We are in NH for weekend and was able to set my lights to a timer.
