Thanks for posting up a nice bass deal, been a while since anyone else did, they've definitely been slipping... this one sounds and plays great in store, if I was in the market for a P, I'd be all over it.

Yea, I searched to make sure it wasn't a repost and I found scant mention of bass deals being posted. I don't play it but thought it might help others.
As long as you like or can live with the color combo, this is pretty much as good as it gets for a new Fender-branded P-Bass. Many other options out there but if you don't want to move further down-range (price-wise) into the Squiers this is a good place to start. It's easy to modify/upgrade, too, if any of the individual parts don't satisfy (though you can do the same with the Squiers of course)... like the pickguard, for instance. I think this bass would look much nicer with a white or black one, a common and inexpensive mod, but that's all down to personal taste.
FWIW all of the used examples of this bass on Reverb have asking prices higher than this sale price for new.
a Used squier vintage modified bass with "Duncan Designed" pickups isnt really all that bad. And it will have real rosewood to boot. They sell for $200-$250 area used.
I was initially on board with "schecter and squier are so much better than Fender", but after years, I've seen the light.
This ocean turquoise green bass is one of my main players.
That color combo is my favorite, and if you look its mostly the color on the high end fender stuff like the Ultra bass, the all roserood neck strat/tele, the accoustisonic, etc.
dont get me wrong. I still like schecter and squier. But they are like a nice honda from the 80s. lightweight and go fast. Someone sell me a schecter michael anthony bass in orange.
Yes. I would like to know as well on the Indonesian bass's
Lacking a reply from the person you're responding to, I can only speculate... but perhaps s/he is referring to the Squier VM/CV/Contemporary models, which are Indonesian and Chinese and usually considered to be fine instruments. New prices are in the $400-500 range. Most available for less used but they tend to hold their value pretty well, far better than the Squier Affinity series.
But even if those are not the models referred to, from what I've seen generally the less expensive basses are quite often made in Indonesia. There are plenty of good instruments in the sub-$600 range.

Curious on some of your Indo recommendations
