What's the deal with Lowes for Pros? I went to my local Lowes the other day to buy this battery - I couldn't find it.

The standard Lowes site says "This item is unavailable for purchase online" and won't let me buy it online for store pick-up. The Pro site says there are 5 in stock and allows me to order... but I can't since I don't have an account.

Are these compatible with some of the older Craftsman drills too?

Zwali, I saw the same thing. I went through the process of creating a pro account (it's no cost) and was able to make a curbside pickup order.

When I try to order online, It says Lowe's For Pros has moved to Lowe's? Then it doesn't allow me to order for pickup.

I wouldn't trust their online order anyways. Last time I ordered the BLACK+DECKER 4-Tool 20-Volt Power Tool Combo Kit (2-Batteries and charger Included) for $70, and they cancelled on me.

I tried that - it shows a $14 price before I login to Lowe's pro. I put them in my cart, login and now they are $50 each. wtf.

Recently Lowes has made it difficult to buy clearance items online, even on lowesforpros they are updating websites and it can be hit or miss.
If you're not close to a Lowes store, I get why you would want to order it online for pick-up, to make sure they actually have it in stock and don't drive all the way for nothing. Someone here suggested one workaround, where you would order it at the whatever price on lowesforpros and when doing pick up to let customer service know that it should ring at a different price, etc...Have not tried it myself.

As far as inventory, brickseek can be accurate, but not always.
Lowes sometimes cancels online order if they can't find the item, even if they do have it in stock somewhere. If you go in store, take item number and check overhead and boxes for stock. If you find a good customer service rep, they could help you find it there, but that's a ymwv.

They're supposed to be 100% compatible with the older Craftsman stuff, yeah. I think they're not 100% electrically compatible with the Porter Cable or DeWalt tools despite them using almost exactly the same physical form factor.

Only the Bolt-On line is compatible.

There are 3 different lines of Craftsman 20V tools. The B&D batteries are only compatible with 1... the Bolt-On line. This is only because the Bolt-On is actually a B&D Matrix with a Craftsman sticker. The current V20 line from Lowe's is not compatible, nor is the dark red 20V line that was/is sold by Sears.
