No point explaining it to peasants.
Once you go OLED, you never go back to basic LED/QLED/etc TVs.
I believe the poster was referring to Department of Defense and Coast Guard civilian employees. They became eligible to shop in store on May 1st. It is my understanding online will happen later this year for these employees.

Aren't 65 inch TVs like $500 now? How is this a deal?

This is a 2021 model LG OLED TV. This is a great price on it.

Why not pay $500 now and buy a new one next year when this tv is obsolete, why spend the equivalent of 4 TVs ?

Go to a Best Buy and look at an OLED in person. Then go look at the color vibrance and clarity on a regular LED 55". You'll see why people pay a premium.

I remember before inflation when 1599 was a good deal for a 65 inch OLED... those were the good all days... gas goes up, the price of everything goes up.... makes me turn from center left to center right more and more every day

1899 for a current model year OLED in June of the same year is a really good price considering last yr's CX was selling at this price during thanksgiving last yr (Costco and others). Not sure about the effect of inflation here.
