i remember financing one of the first DLP TVs back in the day from this big Electronic chain that was going outa business at a big discount but still over $3k or something..!? that was the most i ever paid for a TV..!
But seriously tempted but can't justify paying nearly double for only 6" bigger size..? i think they overpriced this by about $1500..? i woulda bit at under $5k prices .... ?
wonder does it really cost all that much to produce these to come close to justifying the exuberant retail prices..? or is luxury taxation the main reason for the big a$k?
i have 65" that i bought on close out at costco at $1500 a couple of years back and love it ..! my eyes are getting bad and really wanna get a bigger TV to help better read the subtitles https://static.slickdealscdn.com/ima...lies/smile.gif-
i saw a 83" tv at costco the other day below $1500 ... but the picture on display wasnt nearly as crisp and clear as Oleds ...!
i know i rather have a over 80" TV but man this thing is really too much money still to fork over for a TV ...!! :/
i dont play video games, hardly watch more than couple of hours of TV a day and my Internet speed is too slow living country side to steam full 4k .... should i splurge on this thing or a 77" which is closer to my budget? or should i get a non OLED 85" for less than 2k ?

As I said about the a90j which is Sony's version of this but $8000, these are TV's for people with no need for value. The 77" C1 can be had for about $3000, this 83" G1 is double that in most places. Yes the G1 will have better PEAK (not overall) brightness and to make it more appealing since sales must be lagging, LG just increased the warranty on the panel itself to 5 years, but I just don't see how that and 6 inches more of screen size makes it worth double the C1.
I'd assume this price becomes the norm everywhere on/after Prime Day. The exchange has had a couple oled sales in the past month that preceded price drops by a week.
As for your choice, if you can afford it go oled, the picture quality is amazing and the 77" models can be had for about $3000 (last year's CX for less and the C1 and the a80j are just over) If you are in a very bright room or sitting 15' or more away look at the larger QLEDS, but other than that I'd go 77" oled. Or if you have f u money and value is meaningless, go 83.
