Just wanted to double check myself, but if I got this wireless doorbell that comes with the homebase, I could just purchase the "Eufycam 2 Pro add on cameras" to get some cameras outside around my house as well right? (so wouldn't need the Eufycam 2 Pro kit that comes with a homebase)

That's what it looks like to me, but then I wonder if it would be better to buy the camera kit and add the doorbell. It's not on a prime day deal, but it is on sell for $100 off right now. Make sure you're getting the new version that is 2k resolution and not the old 1080p version, if that matters to you. It does me. I'm on the fence, considering the 2k outdoor camera kit.

Edit: went ahead and ordered it. Here's the link to the 2k kit.

Even so they won't be at this price. New versions of things are coming out so often that it's not feasible to hold back unless the release is announced and you know the specs. That way you can compare the pros and cons.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe one of the key differences between this battery-powered one and the wired-only version is that the wired-only version constantly records, such that you can view 3 seconds of footage prior to the initial alert.

This is not available on the battery-powered one, even if you wire it to your existing doorbell wires.

That's correct. I installed this a couple of weeks ago and that's the only downside for this video doorbell. Other than that I really like that it works with my existing doorbell chime. Which is a big plus because my home has an up and downstairs chime.

What is the base for? All I need is a doorbell because our wired one broke. I have an Echo show and cellphone to see video, why do I need the base? There is another Eufy doorbell for $80 on Amazon.
