Not sure if this would be a good deal, but for those who have the money to spend on a mower like this, Ace hardware currently has this model on sale for $699.99. It's the higher end model with the largest battery and charger included.
A push mower for $700 is a deal? I like EGO products but what in the hell?
This one is self propelled I believe. They have different levels and this happens to be their newest model with the largest battery. From what I've seen, it also has some new blade that can suck up clippings into the bag? Idk. I'm a new homeowner so I've been looking into all different t types of mowers.

Electric mowers cost more because it costs more to make because batteries are still pricey. This is the Cadillac (Tesla?) of electric mowers.
Pros:
- Little to no maintenance
- Quiet
- Greener than ICE mowers
- No gas storage
- Batteries are compatible with accessory lawn care equipment
Cons:
- $$$
- Replacement batteries are $$$
- Wait for recharge once battery is exhausted (1hr) vs fill up with gas and go
- Have to explain to Joe Schmo why you bought one over a cheaper ICE mower

So I got warned by the mods for including it in my original post, but if you have raku-ten… check it out. Extra savings.

And this is still cheaper by $300 then makita top of the line mower that has 4 5ah batteries that is only 18v x 5ah x 4 batteries= 360 wh and this ego is 56 x 10ah=560 wh. And it requires at least 2 to operate so 4 batteries is like 2. I love my makita construction tools but i cant figure out why the mower is so expensive. There very limited for certain tools without doing 21700 cell batteries. Obviously the new 40v line can solve that but thats a different system. I cant get on board with their OPE tools for the 18v/18v x2 that they actually offer a lot in. Im mainly a dewalt guy jus some makita so i have that situation figured out but i jus dont understand it

Yeah the Makita has good reputation and my guess is that it is built well. Definitely seems overpriced compared to competitor even considering going all in on Makita 18V batter ecosystem, but then there is a new voltage ecosystem that's around the corner...
I still can't afford this so I will keep to the gas mower for now. Maybe in a year or if I get lucky in a super clearance.
