Unless you feel you need the parent controls... and can't do it any other way (that is like you are going to england and you need to take a boat cause you can't do it any other way).
I gave my kid a Fire HD10, installed games for her and YT kids and deleted Youtube. She is 8 yrs old and never once went on to chrome but she does ask google a lot of questions (specifically how to spell different words and the weather).
And I used XDA AMAZON TOOL BOX (NO FOR A KIDS EDITION)... disabled all Amazon, even Alexia and installed google assistant that works verbally.
