Newegg also has a V11 animal for $379 and kinda wavering between the v8 or v11. Only have a corded vac currently; and would like the convenience of cordless, but not sure which direction to go. Coworker spent $600 on a new V11 n swears by it, but I'm not sure if I need that fancy of one.

I'm in the same boat as you. What I've been reading is that the batteries don't last long if you're using it on mostly carpeted flooring. For hard floors and a few rugs, these seem to do the job just fine. I have a corded Oreck which works fine but is a bit of a hassle to pull out for a small mess.

I think you should go for the best deal and just start using it- you wiill quickly wonder whether you can ever live without one again-I know

It's a stick that's strong enough to replace a floor vac. Pretty dang impressive.
