Of all the "junk" on Amazon, I'm not sure I'd rank Ugreen very high up there. Reviews on their products tend to rank pretty highly as valid according to ReviewMeta, and it seems that they (generally) use more common and tested chips for their products (meaning they're generally more compatible or functional).

I'm not defending them or anything; I only have one of their products and it works fine (which is expected, so I have no reason to think they're the greatest thing since sliced bread). I just think I'd steer someone toward Ugreen over some fly-by-night random-word-generator-branded company.
I can officially say I've had issues with UGreen stuff.

I bought two different UGreen 2.5" drive housings. Neither of them work with USB 3 anymore. If I plug it into USB 3 the drive just isn't recognized, worked for a single day. It doesn't matter, I've tried two different Linux systems and a Windows system, just doesn't work. If I move them over to a USB 2 port, they work fine at USB 2 speeds.

I happened to have a big pile of 2.5" drives that weren't being used anymore, so when I ordered them I ordered 2 Ineo housings at the same time. The Ineo drive housings are still working all the way around.

I had to say, I had some high hopes for the UGreen stuff since I sort of trusted the people here on Slickdeals and the housings didn't look too bad. What a letdown.

I'm going to have a difficult time trusting this hub since they have demonstrated difficulty where USB 3 is concerned.
I have many I ugreen products. Mostly cables. All of them work great and are built solid.

People seem to like Ugreen, but they ignored a support email I sent. Many USB C devices have only one port and spending a little more for PD flexibility can be worthwhile in many situations.

Yeah. I have only bought one from them and the USB ports are finicky at best. I decided to keep it because I can still have one of them working.

Theoretically, especially 2.0 devices.

If you're planning on doing data and charge, I recommend getting a hub - of a different brand - that has an external power supply. It will be easier on your computer and likely charge faster.

If you just want to charge, I would recommend getting a dedicated multi-port charger.

How is this front page with not a single positive post? I'll run not walk away from this deal after reading posts from well-tenured contributors. That is what makes this site great!

Can anyone recommend a 3.0 hub with individual power on/off switches for individual ports?

I just wanted to add, I've bought a couple UGREEN products (all cables) and they've all been particularly high quality. Now, that said, I'm also not surprised to hear their customer service (for a Chinese brand) is not up to Anker's rather stellar levels. They do offer a very good warranty, but the warranty is only useful if they are responsive to warranty requests. Also, I've noticed that UGREEN aren't just generic rebranded Chinese cables... you can usually tell the generics, but the UGREENs seem to have their own proprietary designs - like Anker, Aukey, etc
