Do not hesitate to buy the mark 2.
tip 1: the mark 2 doesn't come with the 8-9 dollar airplane adapter, buy at same time or pick up at another store. It comes with the mark 1.
Tip 2: while the Bose app seams redundant, you can use it for headphone firmware updates and also fixing the occasional pairing issue. I wish I used it sooner.
Tip 3: official or cheapo ear cushions are available on Amazon. My ones are still going strong but I replaced my partner's ones of same age.
I do not recommend headphones for phone calls/work. You of course can but I prefer earphones or speakerphone.
If you can, use a credit card with extended warranty benefits eg. amex, Citi cards that have at least a 95 dollar annual fee. If anything fails it will be the on/off button if you don't look after it. For this model, that's the primary weakness. I've been ok at year 5 but this forum is full of this issue.

The QC45's are rumored right around the corner, leaked images have shown up, but no specs yet.
I guess OP meant to say it's $249 in Amazon and the deal is $194 in Woot.
The Woot deal is $195. I'm guessing the Amazon link is for reference.

I've heard about the upcoming QC 45 that was discovered through some FCC filings. I'd love to know more and hope the wait isn't long. The NC 700 are also tempting for the better call quality. I get a lot of complaints for call quality when using my QC 1 headphones.

I've read terrible things about the 700 headphones and the required app. Will the QC 45's go the same route with unnecessary apps? If so, I'd rather have the 35
