I had to turn off the rotate-to-turn-on-screen to save the battery, otherwise, it wouldn't last a day.

Same here. I actually won a series 6 from my work that I returned to Target (for a gift card) so that I'll have the funds ready when the 7 is available.

I'll see if anyone wants my series 2 for $50 or so...

This is Apple marketing. There is always supply issues or "constraints". This does two things. It leads to people either purchasing the previous model for fear or not getting a new one or it just creates more hype for the new one among the enthusiasts.

I'd be more inclined to agree with you in previous years, but I work for an IoT company and we currently can't build new products due to parts constraints. Yes, Apple is a very big fish in that pond, but everyone is feeling that squeeze.

Yup this. I'm assuming that the higher end model will be limited at launch. I'm also assuming that their won't be a lot of color options this year. Considering the many sales they had on the red S6.
