Well this one's actually kinda tempting. I don't know enough about it, but numbers-wise it's prob the best deal I've seen in a while.

I have seen the 2060S for under $500 recently. Hoping prices get more reasonable before year end. This card is a hair better than the 5700xt that I remember seeing for $300-$350 a couple years ago.

One thing weird is in the reviews a customer put a pic that appears to be an Asus Prime b550m-k, which makes me wonder why they call the machine a Rog Strix. Also seems to be lacking on cooling with just one 90mm exhaust fan and a regular flat cpu cooler. Shouldn't be hard to upgrade cooling a bit in this case though vs. a lot of the box store pre-built brands.

"I love the spec of this computer (CPU: AMD 5700G, GPU: 2060 Super). However after receiving the desktop, it only has one exhaust (90mm) fan in the back other than CPU fan. There is no way to additional ways to mount fans in this case. Front and Top are solid, so I cannot add fans to cool the computer down. It's like having a performance engine in a car on that cannot support it."

The 2060 Super is only slightly slower than a new RTX 3060 if that helps anyone decide whether to pull the trigger. And the 5700G falls between the 5800x and the 3700x in benchmarks (not as fast as the 5800x but faster than last gens 3700x). Best part about the 5700G is that it has the iGPU so you could always take the GPU out and still have a working machine for low end gaming or a work type machine. Also, this uses standard hardware inside (unlike Dell or HP's main machine lines) so IF the cooling was really that terrible, you could take it all out and put it in a new case.

Whether you should buy it or not, it's one of the cheapest pre-builts I've seen that doesn't carry a GTX 16XX series cards. Rarely does an RTX machine go for under $1000 (although this one just squeaks under). And it is a 2060 Super (basically a 2070) which is a decent card and much better than the vanilla 2060 (I know I had both).

Yeah I just saw that review as well. But the inside front of the metal case is mesh that you can probably do something with, I just can't tell how much additional air can get through. If you search for "G10DK" someone put a brief video of the insides last month.

I suppose at this price, it's still an ok deal to case swap it, compared to other prebuilt prices we've seen lately. I'm still hoping to see something with 3070 in the ~$1k range soon.

It's not clear if there will be much to look forward to for holiday PC sales this year. Rumor is part shortages are going to continue well into 2022 because of corona and cyrpto mining.
