I got this one new a month ago, on mine at least the height adjustment doesn't stay in place, it lowers itself as you use it, I scorched a section of lawn before noticing and had to re-seed it. Ended up clamping it in place. Will be returning it for the newer model they just released which has an improved height adjustment (appears more robust anyway) and also sells for a lower price new than the 801.

There are very mixed reviews of the refurb units, keep in mind a lot of people buy ("rent") these to use them once (who knows how big their lawn was and how much wear it caused) then return for refund, or they have an issue like I have, and it seems the manufacturer doesn't really do much to them and just sends them back out as refurbished. I didn't want to take that risk. I guess it is luck of the draw, you might get one that someone opened but never used, you might get one that was abused hard and returned....

Bought mine several weeks back as a refurb at 100. They sent two dethatcher attachments and no scarifier and it was missing bolts to secure handles to the base of the unit. Scarifier was sent 2 day shipping, which was nice, but I have ZERO faith in their refurb QA for what it's worth.

I bought one in Walmart and assembled and used once. Do they take it without box? Also does this one come with bag ? The one from Walmart the harder part is to collect the grass
