Bought the thrustmaster tmx a week ago for $138 eventhough it has no clutch and manual H shifter but for the price I think it's worth it.

I thought so too. But the purist in me stopped bc the shifter was a dealbreaker. For me it's all in or all out. I didn't like that there was no shifter available for it even or that the shifter would offset the savings. I'm waiting for when I can do everything to provide a simulation experience. The car simulator software is in its fledgling state and with support will be awesome supplement for teaching down the road. I'm waiting for that scene to come.

When that software comes whatever wheel it supports for I will make an effort to invest then. My kids are still young so I have time to wait.

For gaming purposes it was definitely a super deal.

This one doesn't have a manual shifter either. You can buy one with a clutch on ebay since the thrustmaster eco system is interchangeable except the actual wheel.

Umm the TMX does have a shifter available for it. In fact it is a higher quality shifter than the Logitech option.

Can you show me a link and one that is available? For me it was a high cost or availability issue and that's why I cancelled. Couldn't find a shifter at this time but I'm more than happy to be wrong.

That's different from not having one.

I have seen them on eBay for as low as $150, new for about $199.

Retail was about $170. They certainly aren't as cheap as the Logitech option.

The shifter is way better built. I own one lots of metal parts. Logitech shift is mostly plastics.

This is pretty much regular price now. I tried it and do not like it. It is very unnatural, and feels like you are grinding some gears.

U mean like a car with low transmission fluid? Yeah that bites. I'm still doing r&d but I'm thinking logitech with some easy modding kit on springs for pedal and new clutch knob for shifter. To me for value on the whole shebang logitech makes more sense.

Driving simulator or trainer softer developer emailed me. Initially said racing wheels aren't "needed" but they may have the support in a few month.
