Kinda hard to recommend the OnePlus 9 after the Pixel 6 was announced.

The OnePlus 9 is a fine phone if you want something that competes with flagships, but it has a lot of drawbacks. It doesn't get frequent updates, its build quality is questionable, its camera is just okay, and OnePlus service is awful, as is their especially restrictive warranty service that looks for reasons to disqualify you. A lot of people seem really unhappy at the switch to ColorOS, too.

It's not that the OnePlus 9 is a bad phone in itself, it's just not really as good as the Pixel 6 for the same price. Granted, the Pixel 6 might come with some unexpected issues we don't know about yet, but on paper, it just seems superior at that price point.

The only advantages I know of that the OnePlus 9 has over the Pixel 6 is faster Warp Charging speeds, which can be a big deal if you're a super heavy user who constantly worries about battery, and a 120 Hz refresh rate.

I love OnePlus, I have the 8 pro and love it and I am really inclined to get the 9 pro however the pixel 6 pro is peeking my interest to switch, but idkkk. Thoughts? OnePlus gives their buds for "free" right now or could wait for Black Friday sales :?

Yeah, now formally became a part of Oppo, OxygenOS is being combined with ColorOS which my biggest concern is now software related as it may stray far from the stock Android experience depending on which direction they want to go. Between the two I'd lean towards Pixel 6 right now as the future for OP is now unknown and software support can make a dramatic difference in the experience unless you like switching models every year. I'm waiting for the Android 12 beta to arrive on my OP8 to fully vet it out. From there I'll think if I can deal with OP10 or move on.

I also agree wholeheartedly. Not to mention OnePlus started throttling apps on the OnePlus 9.and does not allow you to opt out of this. While it improves battery life, it does take a hit to performance.

OnePlus is one of those companies who started with a great concept -- but over time is now changing.
