I think there's a newer version out now, but this is a good deal for sure. Use a credit card with an extended warranty. In my experience Fitbits last for about 1.5 years.

I don't understand this. Can you explain this to me? I wanted to get a new Fitbit, but everyone I get breaks after a year.

My son's first Ace made it almost two years. My Blaze was about the same. Fitbit doesn't have a repair service, and after the warranty, the best they'll do is offer a discount on a new one. Enter the credit card warranty extension. I was able to submit a copy of my chat with Fitbit customer service, and a copy of the receipt, and got a check for the purchase price from Citi. With a card like the Costco Visa, you get a two year warranty extension, so in 3 years you've got a really good chance of it failing during that timeframe. Basically it's a buy it once and keep it rolling with CC warranty proposition unless you lose it or destroy it.

Needs charging every 5 days, for kids that is a hassle. Garmin Vivofit devices are more simplistic but they track steps and sleep, tell time, and have stopwatch functionality and the battery lasts about a year.

My experience with Fitbit, it lasted exactly 13 months and missed warranty. I've posted my comment in multiple instances in SD, and some people dislike my post. I don't know why.

No. It's a warranty extension for most anything with a written warranty purchased (from anywhere) using the card.
