Overall the biggest disappointment about these bikes is that the ergonomics simply aren't any better than many kids bike options. If you like the padding idea, find an old Trek Jet for sale that does the same thing with lower standover height. Fully enclosed chains on kids bikes are still too uncommon, but not impossible to find a kids bike with some reasonable chain guards (seems like they're usually just pulled off at some point if you're shopping second-hand, so just keep looking).
As someone who has shopped kids bikes the last couple of years, I can affirm that even in a hot bike market things aren't as bad as they were... so this isn't really the deal it purports to be unless you're just interested in spending a bunch on a small bicycle.
